Account Executive/Property & Casualty Sales Eastern Region - Remote

We are currently seeking experienced candidates for our Account Executive (Sales) role. This position has an assigned book of clients and prospects. The primary focus of this position is to sell commercial property and casualty insurance products. You will be responsible for building the existing book of business by developing new accounts and assist in retaining the current book of business.

The successful candidate will possess experience in the Property & Casualty insurance industry. As an Account Executive (Sales), you will enjoy access to niche programs (through our Captive companies) that only American Hardware & Lumber Insurance Agency can offer to our clients and prospects.

  • 3-5 years of experience in insurance business to business sales

Wholesale Broker - Location: Cornelius, NC

American Lumber Underwriters (ALU) is a Managing General Agent located in Cornelius, NC (near Charlotte). ALU focuses on helping insurance agents, throughout the US, with their accounts in the retail hardware, lumber manufacturing and building material dealers industries. ALU has unique partnerships with carriers and brokers to place almost all types of risks.

We are currently seeking someone to be a Wholesale Broker working in our Cornelius, NC office.

The successful candidate will possess the ability to broker insurance coverages for all types of accounts and a competitive spirit to drive production.

Desired qualifications:

  • Experience in commercial property and casualty insurance. Wholesale Broker or MGA experience preferred.
  • Develop and maintain business relationships with producer/agents, underwriters, peers and management
  • Licensed Producers or Brokers preferred. Excess and Surplus lines experience is a plus.
  • Negotiate with underwriters, markets, and producers
  • Solicit submissions from producers
  • Obtain and maintain high productivity
  • Must be a team player
  • Willingness to travel
  • Excellent phone/communication skills (written and verbal)

Underwriting Support Associate - Location: Cornelius, NC

This position requires a person with moderate experience to support the Underwriting Team by providing efficient and accurate administration of the new business and renewal process.

The Underwriting Support Associate will function within departmental framework with moderate direct supervision.  This position provides basic technical expertise and administrative support for the Underwriting team to facilitate the process of market placement, client service and account processing.  The Underwriting Support Associate will work to compile data and perform administrative tasks to assist the Underwriting and Brokerage teams.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years P&C experience.
  • Basic understanding of insurance coverages, forms and processes preferred
  • Critical attention to details and customer service needs
  • Ability to manage workload and prioritize tasks
  • PC proficient: Excel, Word and Agency Management Systems (i.e. Applied/Epic)
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to multi-task and consistently meet deadlines
  • Ability to work in a team environment
